simplebim® 10 — launched 28 March 2023

simplebim® 10 revolutionises BIM data processing

BIM data is often inconsistent, bulky, inaccurate and unstructured: adapting it to its intended use is one of the construction industry's main challenges. simplebim® 10 offers new ways to use data from IFC files for better production planning and scheduling, cost estimation, procurement, tendering, monitoring or installation work.

With simplebim® 10, licence holders — new and existing alike — can finally use their BIM data to its full potential:

Derive objects and data from the original models

Automatically create new derived objects from quantities, object clashes and existing geometry. Use your own geometry to visualise, for example, space coverings, formwork, or even ducts, pipes and electrical penetrations. Derived objects are exported to IFC for use in any IFC-compatible application.

Enrich data to obtain new properties

Use formulas to derive new properties from existing data. Calculate derived quantities or aggregate data in groups and assemblies based on the objects assigned to them. Enriched data is exported to IFC and can be used in downstream applications.

Colour and visualise BIM models

Use colours in BIM models to make model data easier to understand and read. Colouring can be based on any data: object classes, object types, groups, systems, classifications, containment or building element properties of any kind. It is exported to IFC so it can be reused in any downstream project application.

New quantity take-off methods

Calculate any quantity for any selected set of objects, without being limited by object classes. Calculate quantities at different levels of the hierarchy (assemblies and/or parts), for spatial surfaces, or for complex geometries such as hollow-core slabs and corrugated sheeting. Create derived objects from quantities.

Reduce the size of BIM models

Reduce model size by up to 90% compared with the original by simplifying the geometries of selected objects into boxes. Re-export to IFC and use the lightweight model on any device or downstream application.

Write automation scripts

Batch-process models and export automatically formatted data. Connect BIM and Excel data to create Bimsheets that automate your workflows, export to CSV files, or collect third-party data (product information) to enrich the model automatically from a Bimsheet.

"simplebim 10 is going to revolutionise BIM data processing. Once data is standardised and enriched in a centralised, automated way, it can be used by every player in the construction chain for better decision-making. BIM data wrangling lets you automatically connect your BIM data to other sources, amplifying its decision-making power."
